Soneva Fushi Resort: Desert Island Hideaway, Maldives

For this weekend we are heading to Soneva Fushi Resort in the Maldives.

This Resort is the first Robinson Crusoe style hideaway in the Maldives and it is set on the privately owned, uninhabited, tropical paradise island of Kunfunadhoo, which is one of the largest islands in the Maldives.

Apart from the crystal clear waters, for which the Maldives is world-renowned, the island's unusually rich vegetation provides a unique nature experience.

Villas and rooms are scattered along the beach and tucked into the lush greenery, providing the ultimate in privacy. The sheer size of the island allows an enjoyable exploration by bicycle or an energetic run on one of Soneva Fushi's hidden jogging trails.

Soneva Fushi, it should be said straightaway, is the finest resort in the Maldives. Indeed it is gaining a reputation as one of the finest resorts in the South and South-East Asia region. It is that good! Inevitably it is as expensive as you would expect such a place to be.

But, if you really wish to experience the best of nature combined with excellence in design, this is it!

Have a breezy weekend,
