Stylish bathrooms inspired by Nature

How about sinking into a bathtub set amidst a natural ambiance?

Nature has brought inspiration to the new collection of bathroom features and fittings of Neutra.

Indeed, the Italian company has a very unique collection of stylish bathroom furnishings and fittings that combine the purity of water, energy of stones, and the warmth of wood.

Does that say it all? Nature seems to be what drives this line of products that would make your bathroom an experience in itself.

All the furnishings, including the sink, bath tub, shelves and shower floor are made of stone, wood and aluminum. They evoke the feeling of nature and create a holistic atmosphere to the maximum, and prove themselves to be alluring to the core.

This unique collection of bathroom furnishings would provide you with a rejuvenated bathing experience. Sleek!

A Beautiful Villa in Paradise

My house tour of today is about this stunning villa set in the mythical island, of Capri.

Exposed to breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, this jewel of a home is the result of the perfect marriage between clever Architecture and contemporary Art.

The villa is located high in the mountains of the Italian island of Capri, which gives it that authentic bright sunlit aura.

The whitewashed walls, together with the stone floors, set the perfect scene to enhance the select colorful pieces in the decor. It's evident blue is the color of choice as it's the one hue that's present in every room of the house, perhaps inspired by the alluring deep blue sea that surrounds it.

But my favorite feature of all is the impressive stone wall in the shower area that creates a dramatic contrast with the slick design of the bathroom! LOVE!

For me, only 3 words: This is paradise. What do you think?

Dick Clark’s Unique Flintstone-Style House

Fans of the classic Flinstones cartoon show will definitely fall in love with this charming Flintstones inspired house residing in the beautiful southern California region of Malibu.

It was owned by iconic TV personality Dick Clark and the famous couple sold the property for $3.5 million.

Like something right out of the cartoon, the home looks like a cave turned residence.

It consists of one bedroom and two bathrooms nestled on a massive 23 acre lot, with 360-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands, Boney Mountains, Serrano Valley, sunsets and city lights. There is also a bar, two fireplaces, open patio and wine cellar.

There is also a lot about this home that satisfies your deepest green desires. Indeed, it was explicitly designed to fit in with the surrounding, rolling landscape, which consists of aloes and other succulents, and to prioritize nature over the built environment. This is particularly evident in the cut outs in each room that overlook the Pacific ocean.

This is a truly magical retreat...I really like the idea of living as close to nature as this! Great home design!

Can you imagine yourself living in this house?

Original House-Lamp by Lauren Daley

Images: mocoloco, house-lamp

My Home Decor of today is about these table House-Lamps by the talented Lauren Daley.

It is is an original light project that has a finished wooden model home and a lampshade above.
Each lamp is created of a hand-assembled home which is made with a high tech CNC laser cutting for efficient parts creation, and light sources for beauty and practicality.
You can see there are three styles, Eco, Modern, and Bungalow, all fashioned from basswood, with a choice of stained solid or plywood base, and with or without a handy task lamp with Led lights.

This project is so cool and brings a cozy touch to any space, don't you think?

Paradise Modern Open-Plan House

My house tour of today is about this stunning Modern Open-plan House designed by Guz Architects

You should have no trouble seeing the forest through the trees while standing anywhere inside or outside this stunning home. The residence is less of a house and more of an all-in-one exterior experience, flowing with green roofs, outdoor patios, expansive decks and a seamless clear-sided swimming pool (though one could wish it were deep enough to dive into from the rooftop above).

A central green courtyard brings life to even the innermost spaces of the dwelling, with plants overhanging from its walls above and trees sprouting up from the divided grass-or-gravel ground below. It might not be surprising but: these same designers have a history planning resorts and multi-family vacation destinations, experience which has clearly informed this single-family house.

A series of rough-cut rectangular stone pillars serve to establish a border fence that is at once semi-transparent and secure, with slots that allow for limit views between each vertical post. For the garage doors and entry gates, sticks of bamboo fill gaps between rocks.

A second-floor terrace surrounds a cozy lofted set of lounge and bedroom spaces, likewise covered in colorful organic growth that doubles as a privacy divider and light filter.

Semi-exterior zones are covered by spaced-out wooden slats that provide shade but offer no rain protection, while more-interior transitional areas in the plan have sealed solid-wood ceilings.

These images were shot by Patrick Bingham Hall.

In the basement living room area, a built-in bench provides a cushioned viewed through wall-to-wall glass of the bubbling waters of the swimming pool outside, giving even this underground space a relevant connection to the outdoors. Dreamy!

I hope you enjoyed this paradise home tour as much as I did.
